Man who killed daughter, posted FB photo charged
MANILA, Philippines - The 31-year-old man who killed his own daughter and posted photos of the crime in his Facebook account was formally charged yesterday before the Quezon City regional trial court.
Records showed that inquest prosecutor Conrado Rosario recommended the filing of parricide charges against Mark Alvin Manliclic, who was arrested on May 20 after repeatedly stabbing his seven-year-old daughter, Angel Mark Kathleen, at their house in Barangay Sta. Lucia.
Rosario did not recommend bail for Manliclic, who is currently detained at the Quezon City Police District’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) detention cell.
Based on documents submitted to the prosecutor’s office, witness Vilma Villajuan said she was awakened when Manliclic went to her house and confessed to killing his daughter at around 3 a.m. on May 20.
Villajuan reportedly cried out loud, which awakened Manliclic’s sister, who in turn called barangay officials to report the incident.
Police recovered from the crime scene red checkered short pants with blood stains on the left pocket and a bloodstained kitchen knife, which was apparently used in stabbing the victim.
Manliclic reportedly took photos of his daughter’s body and uploaded it to his Facebook account.
