MANILA, Philippines - A man would have celebrated his 32nd birthday yesterday had he not been killed by motorcycle-riding gunmen in Quezon City.
Alejandro de Luna was gunned down in his neighborhood in Barangay Holy Spirit at past 5 a.m., said Police Officer 2 Louie Serbito.
He said it was still unclear who killed the victim and why he was attacked on his birthday.
De Luna died from several gunshot wounds from a .45 caliber pistol, based on the three shells and a slug of the same caliber found at the crime scene, while another shell of unknown caliber was also recovered.
A security guard of a nearby townhouse, Vic Duritan, told police he was awakened when he heard a single shot from outside.
Duritan peeped through the building’s main gate and saw the bloodied victim on the street. He saw the two men on a motorcycle speeding off.
