MANILA, Philippines - The alleged killer of a woman and her four-year-old daughter, whose bodies were found near an international school along C-5 Road in Taguig City, was arrested Thursday night.
Danny Belono, 45, was caught in his shanty at an urban poor community behind a mall, city police chief Senior Superintendent Felix Asis said.
Belono is accused of killing his partner, Jonalyn Gantiao, 30; and her daughter, Gwenn Angel. Investigators are eyeing jealousy as a motive.
Southern Police District director Chief Superintendent Jose Erwin Villacorte said a witness saw Belono talking with Gantiao at about 10 p.m. on Wednesday. The bodies of Gantiao and her daughter were found in the same area hours later.
