MANILA, Philippines - A branch of a money remittance firm in Barangay Sta. Teresita, Quezon City was robbed by two men posing as customers on Sunday.
The robbery happened at past 4 p.m. as employees Ryan Rod Esponela and May Gretchen Fontanal were at the LBC outlet at Suki Market, according to a report from the Quezon City Police District Station 1.
One man took P35,000 from the outlet at gunpoint then boarded a motorcycle driven by an accomplice, the report stated.
In December 2012, a stall at the same market was robbed by armed men. A security guard was wounded in a gun battle with the fleeing robbers.
A number of suspects were arrested for the market heist, including a policeman who had been absent without official leave, who were traced through the vehicles they had used in fleeing.
