Shorter hours for rail lines for 3 days

MANILA, Philippines - The Metro Rail Transit (MRT) and the Light Rail Transit (LRT) Lines 1 and 2 will all have shorter operating hours for three days, starting today, due to the expected low ridership during this period.

Today, Rizal Day, the last train will leave the Baclaran station of LRT Line 1 at 9 p.m. and the last train at the opposite end, the Roosevelt station, will leave at 9:30 p.m.

On Dec. 31, the last trains at the Baclaran and Roosevelt stations will leave at 7 p.m. The following day, the last train at the Baclaran station will leave at 9 p.m. and Roosevelt station at 9:30 p.m.

At the LRT Line 2, the last trains for Dec. 31 will leave the Santolan station at 7 p.m. and C.M. Recto station at 7:30 p.m. On Jan. 1, the last train at the Santolan station will leave at 9:30 p.m. and C.M. Recto station at 10 p.m.

At the MRT, the last trains will leave the Pasay-Taft station at 9 p.m. and North Avenue station at 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 31 and at 10:30 p.m. for the two end stations on Jan. 1, 2014.

The MRT and LRT lines will be open at the regular time of 5 a.m. for these three days.
