MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is taking advantage of the light traffic in the metropolis to repair sections of EDSA and other major roads during the long weekend.
In a travel advisory, the DPWH-National Capital Region said it will conduct road repairs from 10 p.m. on Oct. 31 up to 4 a.m. on Nov. 5.
The sections of EDSA that will be repaired are from C. Jose to P. Santol streets (northbound) in Pasay City; from McKinley Road to Guadalupe Bridge (first lane, northbound) and from Guadalupe Bridge to South Drive (first lane, southbound) in Makati City; and from Reliance to Libertad streets (northbound) and Boni Avenue to Mayon street (southbound) in Mandaluyong City.
In Quezon City, the sections of EDSA that will be under repair are from Main Avenue to P. Tuazon (first lane from sidewalk, northbound); and from Santolan flyover to Annapolis (second lane from Metro Rail Transit line, southbound).
In Caloocan City, the section of EDSA under repair is between G. De Jesus and Evangelista streets (fourth lane, northbound).
The DPWH also said that C. P. Garcia Avenue, between Magiting street and University Avenue; and Araneta Avenue, from Palanza to Bayani streets (first lane, northbound), both in Quezon City, will also be repaired.
