MANILA, Philippines - A fastfood restaurant in Quezon City was robbed of its earnings Thursday night.
Two men staged the heist at the Chowking branch at the corner of Quezon and Roces Avenues at around 8 p.m. Thursday, Police Officer 2 Myron Forosan said.
One man acted as a lookout while the other slipped into the office of the restaurant’s manager, Mary Anne Buna.
Assistant manager Anna Cubacub said the robbers took an undetermined amount of the restaurant’s earnings as well as P1,200 and two cell phones belonging to Buna.
Forosan said one of the robbers poked a gun at one of the restaurant’s crew before going into the manager’s office, where he ordered employees to shut off the surveillance camera.
Cubacub was told to open the vault and place the money into the robber’s bag. Before the robber left, he showed them a grenade, she said.
The two robbers were seen boarding a taxi as they fled.
