MANILA, Philippines - A still unidentified man was killed while eight other persons were injured after 10 vehicles, including a police car, collided along C5 Road in Taguig City Thursday night.
According to reports reaching the Taguig Police, the collision happened at about 10:20 p.m. near Barangay Pinagsama.
The drivers of two 16-wheeler cargo trucks were reportedly racing along C5 Road when one of the trucks collided with a passenger jeepney.
The unidentified man was thrown from the jeepney and run over by the truck. The victim – described to be between 20 and 25 years of age – was killed on the spot, police said.
After being hit by the truck, the jeepney collided with another truck – that triggered a chain of collisions that involved another cargo truck, two jeepneys, two cars, an Asian utility vehicle and a Taguig police vehicle.
Police said two of the victims who were seriously injured were rushed to the Ospital ng Makati while the rest were rushed to the Taguig-Pateros District Hospital.
