QCPD releases sketch of rape try suspect
MANILA, Philippines - The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) released yesterday a sketch of a man who reportedly tried to rape a 13-year-old girl in Cubao on Monday.
The man was driving a red sedan (ZRD-461) and appeared to be in his 20s, said Superintendent Marcelino Pedrozo Jr., commander of the QCPD Station 10. The sketch is based on the girl’s description.
In a report to QCPD director Senior Superintendent Richard Albano, Pedrozo said the car had been sold to Maria Paula Teresa Rosales by her employer, GMA Network. Rosales has yet to come forward to identify the man who drove her car, he said.
The girl told police she was walking on the sidewalk of EDSA’s southbound lane on her way to school at past 5 a.m. when the man approached her, asking for directions to a nearby gasoline station.
She said that after she gave him directions, the man offered her a ride to school. The girl said the man took her to a side street and tried to rape her, but she fought him off and got out of the car.
