MANILA, Philippines - A 12-year-old boy drowned in a public pool in Manila Sunday afternoon.
Doctors at the Ospital ng Maynila tried but failed to revive John Roland Soriano.
According to Police Officer 3 Alonzo Layugan, Soriano and his mother went to the Army and Navy Club along Kalaw street to swim. His mother was later heard shouting for help as the boy struggled to swim to the side of the pool.
Lifeguard Reynaldi Arias tried to resuscitate the boy before bringing him to the hospital.
