MANILA, Philippines - A bank employee lost P9,000 cash and other valuables to a taxi driver and his cohort in Taguig City Thursday night.
Genevieve Lapid told police that she flagged down the taxi in Makati City and asked the driver to take her to Pasig City.
Upon reaching McKinley Hill in Taguig, she said another man appeared on the front seat and declared a heist.
The two men then divested the victim’s gold ring worth P5,000 and bag containing her ATM card.
She said the suspects demanded the card’s pin number before dropping her off along Kalayaan Avenue in Quezon City.
The victim later found out that the suspects managed to withdraw P9,000 from her account.
A check with the Land Transportation Office showed that the cab’s license plate (JWW-988) is non-existent.
