Diplomatic community nakiisa sa Battle of Manila

MANILA, Philippines - Hindi pinalagpas ng diplomatic community ang pagdalo sa paggunita ng makasaysayang Battle of Ma­nila kahapon sa Lungsod ng Maynila.

Pinangunahan ni Manila Mayor Alfredo S. Lim, ang pag-aalay ng bulaklak  sa selebrasyon ng ika-68 Battle for Manila na may temang Saluting the Vete­rans sa Freedom Triangle na malapit sa Manila City Hall.       

Hinikayat din ng alkalde ang publiko lalo na ang mga kabataan na tularan ang katapangan ng mga beterano  na ipaglaban ang pagmamahal sa Pilipinas lalo na sa panahong kailangan itong patunayan.

Kabilang sa mga diplomats na nag-alay din ng bulaklak ay sina U.S. Embassy Marine Attachè, Lt. Col. Michael Ercolano;  Embassy of Canada Political Counsellor, Mr. James Cristoss; Embassy of the People’s Republic of China (PROC) Defense Attache, Senior Col. Wang Jinbo;  Australian Embassy Defense Attache, Col. Bruce Murray; United Mexican States Deputy Chief Christian Clay Mendoza; Memorare Manila 1945 Foundation, Inc. President, H.E. Juan Jose Rocha.  

Kasama rin sina National Historical Commission of the Phils. Executive Director Ludovico D. Badoy; Ma­ nila Historical and Heritage Commission Vice Chair Gemma Cruz-Araneta; WHA CHI 48th Squadron Veterans Post President, Mr. Yee Ni;  Hunters ROTC Guerilla Association President Manuel Pamaran; Des­cendants of Chinese Filipino World War II Heroes, Inc. Founding Presidents Thomas Sy at Tony Tan Ching Hai;  Armed Forces of the Philippines – Marine, Lt. Commodore Maynard S. Cabungcal; Division of City Schools Superintendent Ponciano A. Men­guito; at Boy Scouts of the Philippines Manila Council OIC Jose Jeremie J. Trasga.
