MANILA, Philippines - The Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office has recommended the filing of charges against the estranged wife of comedian and Eat Bulaga co-host Jose Manalo.
Assistant City Prosecutor Raniel Cruz said that he has found probable cause to charge Annalyn Manalo with 20 counts of violation of the Anti-Bouncing Check Law for issuing post-dated checks amounting to more than P1.3 million.
The charges, filed before the Quezon City Metropolitan Trial Court, stemmed from the complaint of jeweler Manuel Ayala, who said that the respondent took from him several pieces of jewelry, which she promised to sell.
Ayala said that Annalyn issued post-dated checks amounting to P1,346,500 as payment. But the checks bounced because the account was already closed.
