MANILA, Philippines - Three sport utility vehicles were carjacked, each by a group of three men, in separate incidents in Quezon City over the weekend.
Antonio Interino, 74, told police that he had just stopped his silver Honda CRV (XGL-837) along Mindanao Avenue at past 8 a.m. Sunday when three men pointed handguns at him and his helper. The three men boarded the CRV and made Interino and his helper transfer to the back seat and duck their heads as the men drove off.
Interino said the carjackers dropped him and his helper off in Barangay Canumay, Valenzuela City. He told investigators that one of the three men wore a blue police patrol shirt.
Police Officer 3 Dennis Telen said Interino identified one of the carjackers from file photos of suspected criminals as a member of the Onad carjacking group.
On Saturday afternoon, a black Nissan Navarra (NUO-975) belonging to Arlen de Guzman and a red Mitsubishi Montero (NNO-374) of veterinarian Walter Tejada were stolen in separate incidents in Quezon City.
Tejada was able to identify one of the carjackers from the file photos as another member of the Onad group.
