Alabang-Zapote Road barriers pose traffic hazard

Manila, Philippines -  A motorist is calling on the Muntinlupa City government to address the traffic hazard posed by concrete barriers along a one-kilometer section of Alabang-Zapote Road that runs through the city.

Emmanuel Geslani, a Las Piñas resident, said the barriers, which do not have reflective paint or markings, cannot be seen at night or on rainy days “since the road is dimly lighted and the barriers have been covered with soot from the heavy traffic.”

Alabang-Zapote Road stretches for nine kilometers and connects Alabang, Muntinlupa and the Zapote junction in Las Piñas.

Geslani said Muntinlupa Mayor Aldrin San Pedro should order his traffic engineering team to clean the barriers and repaint them with high-quality reflective paint so motorists can avoid hitting them.
