Manila, Philippines - Police have arrested a house helper who allegedly robbed and killed his employer in Quezon City.
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Chief Superintendent Mario de la Vega identified the suspect as Jeny Ugacho, a native of Sorsogon.
Ugacho was tagged in the killing of his boss, Carlota Amio, during a robbery at the latter’s house in Fairview on June 17. He was nabbed in a follow-up operation in Sorsogon.
Meanwhile, the Philippine National Police (PNP) called on the public to use common sense in hiring household helpers and require applicants to produce police and NBI clearances.
PNP spokesman Senior Superintendent Generoso Cerbo Jr. said applicants for housemaid, houseboy, gardener and other household helpers should provide clearances from police and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). – Reinir Padua, Cecille Suerte Felipe
