MANILA, Philippines - Two robbers barged into the house of a businesswoman in Marikina City and raped her 16-year-old daughter before escaping with cash, jewelry and other valuable items on Tuesday.
Eastern Police District (EPD) director Chief Superintendent Miguel Laurel ordered a massive manhunt for the suspects after one of them was identified by the rape victim through the police “rogue gallery.”
Laurel instructed Senior Superintendent Gabriel Lopez, Marikina police chief, to solve the case at the soonest time.
The 36-year-old businesswoman was attending to her food catering business in Rodriguez and San Mateo towns in Rizal when the two suspects broke into her house in Barangay Conception Dos at 6:50 p.m.
At gunpoint, the suspects locked up the four occupants of the house in a room as they ransacked the house of three laptop computers, a Samsung tablet, a Samsung Galaxy cellular phone, an iPad2, a Nikon DSLR camera, a Samsung camera, assorted jewelry and cash amounting to P250,000.
When the businesswoman and her daughter returned home at 10 p.m., they were shocked when one of the suspects opened the gates for them.
Not content with the loot, one of the suspects raped the victim before leaving.
A follow-up team composed of PO3 Mark Dennis Sanchez and SPO2 Edwin Arce are hot on the trail of the suspects, who were also involved in the same cases in Barangays Nangka and Concepcion Uno in the past months.
