MANILA, Philippines - A newspaper vendor was shot and killed in front of his house in Malabon City early yesterday morning.
Ramon Almadin, 54, of Flovie Homes Compound in Letre, died on the spot from at least eight bullet wounds in the head and chest.
Almadin’s daughter told Police Officer 2 Benjamin Sy that her father had just stepped out of their house carrying fruits and newspapers on the way to his post on Sampaguita Street when shots rang out at 5:50 a.m.
Police recovered eight empty shells for a caliber .45 handgun in the crime scene.
The victim’s relatives believed that the suspects could be members of “Siete Bulabog,” a criminal gang linked to a series of killings and robbery cases in Letre and Dagat-Dagatan areas.
