Man killed in bike mishap

MANILA, Philippines - A 63-year-old man died after he hit his head in the pavement when his bicycle fell into an open manhole in Marikina City Saturday afternoon.

Police said Carlito Igina was on his way home when the accident happened at the corner of J.P. Rizal and Kingsway streets in Barangay Concepcion Uno. He died while being rushed to the hospital.

Investigators have yet to determine whether the firm responsible for the manhole is liable for Igina’s death.
