MANILA, Philippines - A 36-year-old woman was killed after reportedly jumping from the fourth floor of a condominium in Legaspi Village in Makati City Thursday night.
Makati police identified the victim as Daisy Castro, a resident of Asian Mansion condominium.
Initial police reports said Castro leapt from unit 410 of the Prince Tower condominium in Barangay Bel-Air at about 9:35 p.m. A certain Charmaine Galva owns the unit, reportedly a friend of the victim.
Police said the victim was alone in the condominium unit when she reportedly leapt to her death.
Makati police acting chief Superintendent Jaime Santos said the incident is still under investigation.
He said the victim was not drunk when she reportedly jumped. Police is not ruling out foul play in the incident.
Meanwhile, an American was rushed to the hospital after he fell on an escalator at a mall in Makati.
Santos said Robert Tipton Egulf, 48, from St. Petersburg in Florida, appeared to be drunk and could have fallen asleep while riding the escalator at around 1:52 a.m.
