MANILA, Philippines - A fire that broke out shortly before midnight Thursday left at least 500 people homeless when it destroyed 50 shanties along Boni Serrano Avenue in Libis, Quezon City, the Bureau of Fire Protection reported yesterday.
No one was hurt in the blaze, which started at one of the shanties at around 11:10 p.m. Arson investigators have yet to determine the cause of the fire.
