MANILA, Philippines - A 29-year-old woman who reportedly worked as a police informer was killed in Barangay Longos, Malabon City at past midnight yesterday.
Jennifer Doble, a resident of Navotas City, was found dead along a dark alley at around 1:45 a.m. She sustained two gunshot wounds in the back and two stab wounds in the chest, Police Officer 1 Benjamin Sy said.
According to Sy, a certain Pual saw Doble talking to two suspected pushers along Block 12 in Barangay Longos but moments later he heard gunshots and saw the woman running away from the two men.
A few meters away, the woman fell to the ground while the two men fled on foot.
The victim was brought to Tondo Medical Center for treatment but she died at around 2:45 a.m..
Police said residents were hesitant to talk to them. Barangay Longos, like Barangay Catmon, is one of the villages in Malabon City reportedly used as a haven for criminals.
