MANILA, Philippines - A suspected fixer at the Land Transportation Office (LTO) was arrested in an entrapment operation in Quezon City for allegedly collecting about P37,000 from a businesswoman.
Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) chief Director Samuel Pagdilao Jr. identified the suspect as Lucila Laroco, resident of C-125 NIA Road, Quezon City, who allegedly collected money from complainant Marivic Nudalo.
Pagdilao said Laroco will be charged with violation of the anti-red tape act and falsification and use of falsified documents.
Senior Superintendent Ronald Estilles, chief of the CIDG’s -Anti-Organized Crime Division (AOCD), said Laroco was arrested in front of the exit gate of the Land Transportation Franchise and Regulatory Board along East Avenue in Quezon City, while receiving a white envelope containing a P500 bill as payment for the LTO sticker.
Nudalo said she gave Laroco money on several occasions but the suspect failed to produce her vehicle’s registration, prompting the police to set an entrapment operation.
