Manila, Philippines - A businesswoman was gunned down by a motorcycle-riding attacker as she was driving a companion home in Caloocan City before dawn yesterday.
Nieves Toledo, 45, died on the spot from two gunshot wounds in the body while her companion, Gloria Samson, 68, took a bullet in the neck. Toledo owned an eatery in Phase 5, Bagong Silang and reportedly operated a beerhouse in Bulacan province.
Santos said police officers went to the scene of the shooting and found Toledo dead on the floor of the jeep. Bystanders rushed the wounded Soliman to the Nodado Hospital, where she remains confined.
Witnesses told police that the gunman was wearing white short pants and carrying a backpack.
