MANILA, Philippines - A man afflicted with cancer decided to end his suffering by hanging himself yesterday in Valenzuela City.
Police identified the victim as Adlai Almerol, 54, of De Guzman street in Barangay Gen. T. de Leon.
Almerol’s wife Carmen found his husband's body hanging in the ceiling of their living room with a telephone wire looped around his neck.
The victim, who had been suffering from colorectal cancer, had been bedridden for sometime and complained of being a burden to his family.
Carmen told police her husband had previously tried to kill himself.
