MANILA, Philippines – One of three robbers was caught and beaten up by an angry mob after they allegedly victimized passengers of a jeepney in Quezon City Tuesday night.
Nonie Boy Preposo, 34, of Sta. Cruz, Manila, has been positively identified by his victims Antessa Marie Arias, 23; Marilyn Mahusay, 36; and Rachel Galang, 17.
Preposo’s companions managed to get away. They were identified as Raffy de Guzman and Jason de Guzman, also residents of Sta. Cruz, Manila. The suspect was brought to police custody after he was caught and beaten up by a crowd following a robbery incident that happened around 8 p.m. Tuesday along A. Bonifacio Avenue corner Bulusan St., Barangay Paang Bundok, said Superintendent Lino Banaag, commander of the Quezon City Police District-Station 1.
Senior Police Officer 1 Eugene ALmario said bags taken from the victims were recovered from the suspect. The victims were aboard a jeepney bound for Muñoz.The three suspects were also aboard the jeepney posing as passengers and suddenly pulled out knives and declared a heist.
The victims then started shouting for help and caught the attention of people in the area who managed to catch Preposo.
