MANILA, Philippines – A man playing at a Pasig City billiard hall was shot dead Wednesday by a gunman who left a piece of paper accusing the victim of being an akyat-bahay (burglar) and a magnanakaw (thief).
Senior Police Officer 2 Rogelio Baltazar said victim Freddy Olmedilla, 20, was playing in a billiard hall full of players and enthusiasts when the gunman approached him, tapped him on the back and shot him six times with a handgun.
After placing the piece of paper on top of the victim’s body, the gunman walked to his motorcycle, parked just outside the billiard hall, and sped off.
Baltazar said not a single witness agreed to testify in the case for fear of reprisal.
