MANILA, Philippines - Mayoralty candidate Herbert Bautista and his running mate, Joy Belmonte, formally launched their campaign by leading four proclamation rallies last night.
The supporters of the tandem, running under the Liberal Party’s banner, gathered along Roosevelt Avenue, where one of the rallies was held.
Bautista’s yellow-clad supporters and those of Belmonte, who were in pink, gathered to cheer for their candidates, who arrived together just before 8 p.m.
The other candidates who launched their campaign at the Roosevelt Avenue rally were District 1 re-electionist Rep. Vincent Crisologo and councilor candidates Joseph Juico, RJ Belmonte, Boy Calalay, Wilma Amoranto-Sarino, Alex Herrera and Anthony Crisologo.
Aldrin Cuna, Bautista’s chief of staff, said each of Quezon City’s four districts had its own proclamation rally last night.
Bautista is the incumbent vice mayor while Belmonte is the daughter of outgoing Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr., who is running for congressman in the fourth district. – Reinir Padua
