MANILA, Philippines - Three armed men gunned down a businessman at a lechon restaurant at past noon in La Loma, Quezon City yesterday.
Delfin Gener, 59, died on the spot in Ping Ping’s Lechon House due to gunshot wounds, said Chief Inspector Benjamin Elenzano, head of the Homicide Investigation Section of the Quezon City Police District.
Elenzano said Gener, reportedly engaged in buy-and-sell and a resident of Barangay Laging Handa, was with two companions at the time of the killing.
Two men wearing caps were said to be the ones who shot Gener while a cohort acted as a lookout.
Elenzano said the two gunmen, carrying .45 caliber handguns, went into the restaurant where Gener had just finished eating lunch with two companions.
After the attack, the assailants boarded a Honda XRM and a Honda Wave motorcycles, both of which did not have license plates. The suspects reportedly did not wear any mask or bonnet to cover their faces during the attack.
Elenzano said they have yet to establish the motive behind the shooting, noting that the victim’s two companions immediately left the restaurant following the attack. – Reinir Padua
