Dranreb Belleza accosted for illegal use of siren

MANILA, Philippines - Actor Dranreb Belleza received a dressing down from Manila policemen after he was accosted for illegal use of siren early yesterday morning in Ermita, Manila.

According to Ermita police station chief Superintendent Rogelio Rosales Jr., a mobile car crew stopped Belleza’s Revo vehicle after he continuously sounded off its siren while in front of Rajah Sulayman park.

Belleza reportedly introduced himself and asked for forgiveness after learning that it is illegal for a civilian to use a siren. Police reportedly let go of Belleza without any formal charges filed.

“What I know is the police let Belleza off. He was respectful towards them,” Rosales said.

Policemen said the vehicle was registered under JELP of former President Joseph Estrada.

However, in a separate interview, Estrada said the vehicle is not his but registered under the Ejercito family. “The issue is petty. Let’s not blow it up,” Estrada said in a telephone interview. – Nestor Etolle, Jose Rodel Clapano
