MANILA, Philippines - A German pedophile will soon be deported back to his native country to face the charges of multiple counts of child molestation that he allegedly committed against a five-year-old girl, the Bureau of Immigration said yesterday.
In a statement, BI Commissioner Marcelino Libanan said that 47-year-old Holger Arvid Ingo Becker will be sent back to Germany. Armed with a mission order issued by Libanan, the BI’s Law Enforcement Division apprehended him on April 7 in Barangay Batong Dalig, Cavite City. The fugitive is currently imprisoned at the bureau’s detention facility in Bicutan, Taguig City.
Werner Grohe, the German embassy’s third secretary, described Becker as a notorious pedophile who molested several children. His criminal record indicated that he has previously been convicted and was said to be a recidivist child molester.
One of his victims was the five-year-old girl whom he reportedly raped almost three years ago. A local court in Hamburg, Germany issued a warrant for his arrest last February. BI spokesman lawyer Floro Balato Jr. said that Becker has been hiding in the Philippines since January last year. He is also considered as an undocumented alien after the German government cancelled his passport.
