Parañaque to hold agriculture 'tiangge'

MANILA, Philippines - The Paranaque City government will hold a two-day agriculture “tiangge” or flea market to give residents access to inexpensive fish and produce.

The flea market will be open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the city hall grounds on March 17 and 18.

Mayor Florencio Bernabe said fish, meat and agricultural suppliers from Baguio and Pangasinan will sell their products directly to consumers, cutting out the middlemen.

The project is a joint effort by the Department of Agriculture and the city agriculture and special services offices.Mike Frialde
