Pregnant housewife commits suicide

-

The seven-month pregnant wife of former That’s Entertainment mainstay Fredmore de los Santos committed suicide Tuesday by hanging herself in their bedroom in Marikina City.

Superintendent Sotero Ramos Jr., Marikina City police chief said they are eyeing jealousy as the motive behind the death of Aileen de los Santos, 32. Ramos said the victim was found in a sitting position, an electrical cord tied around her neck and the other end attached to the door knob.

Police recovered a six-page suicide note inside the bedroom.

Chief Inspector Earl Castillo, chief of the local police investigation unit said the victim has been dead for several hours before the discovery of her body.

Castillo said the victim’s son Sean Carlo, 12, arrived home from school in their residence at 38-A. Divina Gracia St., in Barangay Nangka at about 11 a.m.

He said he repeatedly knocked on the door to check on his mother but nobody answered the call. The boy said he presumed that her mother was just sleeping.

Fredmore, 32, arrived home from a shooting of a movie for a film production at about 3 p.m. He knocked at the bedroom but his wife did not respond prompting him to forcibly open the door, and the lifeless body of Aileen greeted him. The husband immediately untied the cord from the neck of the victim but Aileen was already dead.

According to PO1 Nelson Cruz, officer-on-case, the suicide note contained the victim’s jealousy over her husband, whom she accused as being a womanizer.

Police said no external injuries was found on the victim’s body. – Non Alquitran
