Navotas City’s 10th most wanted suspect, who allegedly gang-raped a 16-year-old girl in 2001, was arrested Thursday after more than six years in hiding.
Superintendent Reynaldo Orante, Northern Police District-District Police Intelligence Unit (NPD-DPIU) chief, said Joseph Matorre, 25, and two other suspects – Rodelyn Villaruz and Rodolfo Carvajal – went into hiding after the alleged rape.
Orante told The STAR that Matorre has two more rape cases pending before Navotas City courts.
The NPD-DPIU received a tip last Thursday that Matorre was seen at a candle factory in Barangay Tinajeros, Malabon City.
The police arrested Matorre and turned him over to the Navotas City Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, with no bail recommended for his temporary liberty. – Pete Laude
