3 men hang selves in Tondo, QC

Three men reportedly committed suicide only hours apart Sunday, the police said yesterday.

The bodies of Tondo, Manila residents Mark Daniel Dungca, 22, and Luis de la Cruz, 53, were discovered hanging from the ceiling after they complained of financial difficulties.

Dungca’s uncle, Charlie Rivera, said his nephew failed to borrow money from a friend to meet their family’s daily needs and refused to talk to the other members of their family.

At around 6 p.m., De la Cruz’s wife, Angelina, discovered his body hanging from the ceiling of their room, where he stayed after they had an argument over money.

According to reports, De la Cruz had stopped driving his pedicab and became an alcoholic.

At 9:50 p.m. Sunday, Rommel Pesamia, 25, was found hanging from a tree near his house in Barangay Tandang Sora, Quezon City.

His brother reportedly told the police that Pesamia’s girlfriend had jut broken up with him.   – Nestor Etolle, Reinir Padua
