Valenzuela businessman kills boy, 11

An 11-year-old boy was shot dead after a businessman run amuck and fired his gun indiscriminately in his neighborhood last Sunday night in Valenzuela City.

Police identified the victim as Harvey Aragon of Independence Street, Barangay Gen. T. de Leon.

Suspect Rico Bitualla, 44, of No. 2 Fabian Avenue corner Independence Street escaped after the incident.

Police investigators said Aragon was collecting bets for the basketball game “ending” at around 7:50 p.m. when Bitualla who was armed with a caliber .45 pistol, came out of his house and started shooting at passersby, hitting the victim in the head.

Bitualla immediately boarded his car and escaped.

Aragon was rushed to the nearby KC Calderon Hospital in Gen. T. de Leon Street, but the victim died on the way.

Police are now tracking down the suspect.   – Jerry Botial
