Thousands of online lottery fans are expected to line up today at the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) lotto outlets to try their luck to win the more than P132 million jackpot of the 6/45 megalotto draw tonight.
Dr. Larry Cedro, PCSO spokesman, said as of yesterday morning the jackpot prize has already reached P132.3 million and expected to increase depending on the sales which is expected to skyrocket in the late afternoon.
“We are expecting rush betting in the late afternoon,” Cedro said.
He said lotto players particularly the affluent ones usually bet when the jackpot prize reaches P100 million.
Aside from the Megalotto 6/45 draw the PCSO has also launched the Power Lotto game, which has an initial P50 million jackpot prize for a P50 bet.
Cedro said PCSO introduced the Power lotto to attract affluent Filipinos to “spread the charity virus” by patronizing lottery games meant to generate funds for the poor.
“Power lotto is way of encouraging the major affluent sectors of out society the ABC class to join the charity bandwagon, they can now help our less fortunate countrymen and at the same time look forward to winning of millions of pesos through the lottery games.“ he said.
PCSO plans to raise P149 million in charity funds during the first six months of operation of the Power lotto. – Perseus Echeminada
