4 sex workers nabbed at Caloocan mall

Four women were arrested at a Caloocan City mall Tuesday night for allegedly selling sexual favors.

Substation 1 commander Superintendent Rio Gatacilo said the women were loitering at the Grand Central Mall and offering sex to men who passed by.

The police arrested Altea Lopez, 21; Maricel Peñalosa, 20; Sandy Villanueva, 26; and Jane Basa, 19, as part of Operation Magdalena. The women were later released “for humanitarian reasons” but charged with violating Article 202 of the Revised Penal Code, which deals with vagrancy and prostitution. – Jerry Botial
