Heavy rains and floodwaters did not deter an alleged drug-pushing couple from plying their trade and a marijuana user from getting his fix yesterday in Caloocan City.
Arrested on separate buy-bust operations were live-in couple Marielle Cinco, 29 and Herbert Apostol, 34, of Tugatog, Malabon and Ernesto Castañeda, 34, of Barangay 30, Maypajo, Caloocan City.
Chief Inspector Carlito Dimalanta, officer-in-charge of the Station Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Unit (SAID-SOU), said Cinco and Apostol, both known pushers of shabu in Bisig ng Nayon, Sapa, Caloocan City have been charged with illegal possession and conspiracy to sell illegal drugs before Assistant City Prosecutor Severina Acuña.
A bail bond of P200,000 was slapped against the couple for illegal possession charges while no bail was recommended for drug pushing.
Cinco, who tested positive for phosphorescent powder, was caught while selling shabu in a plastic sachet worth P200, police said, while 11 more sachets of shabu were found on Apostol.
The illegal drugs were tested by forensic chemist Inspector Antoinette Abillonar.
Castañeda was charged with possession and use of marijuana before Assistant City Prosecutor Manuel Guiyab. A bail of P200,000 was recommended for him.
Abillonar said Castañeda also tested positive for marijuana. He was caught with two sachets of the drug. – Jerry Botial
