Three motorists surfaced yesterday and identified the five suspected car thieves slain by Traffic Management Group (TMG) agents in a shootout in Quezon City as among those who forcibly took their vehicles last year.
The gang, known as Dardo’s Group, was also linked to the killing of PO2 Albert Limbania in Mabalacat, Pampangga last March.
The three complainants  Alfredo Tagle, Diosdado Quintano, and Alberto Pundano, all from Meycauayan, Bulacanâ€â€Ârecognized the suspects when they saw them on television last Monday.
The three went to the office of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Bulacan to coordinate with police authorities because their vehicles remain missing.
The testimonies of the three car theft victims further bolstered the position of the TMG agents that the slain suspects were killed in a legitimate shootout.
During a press briefing at the Pilippine National Police (PNP) press office, TMG spokesman Superintendent Edwin Butacan said Medardo Tuazon, one of the identified slain suspected car thieves, was confirmed to be the leader of a notorious Bulacan-based crime gang.
