Borgy beats up Pardo de Tavera kin

The son of Ilocos Norte Rep. Imee Marcos again figured in a beating incident at The Fort in Taguig City early morning yesterday.

Manotoc, a ramp and commercial model, was reported to have been assisted by his companions when he beat Carlo Pardo de Tavera Brown, 22, in front of the Embassy Cuisine Bar at 4:30 a.m.

Taguig police chief Superintendent Alfred Sotto Corpus said that just before the incident, Manotoc saw Brown talking to his girlfriend, Ornussa Cadness, while they were inside the bar.

Police investigators, led by Police Officer 2 Marlon Garcia, later recovered an aluminum chair outside the bar. They suspect it was the one used by Manotoc’s group to attack Brown.

Brown underwent treatment at the Makati Medical Center after he suffered cuts on his head.

Brown is the son of Mara Pardo de Tavera, sister of former social welfare secretary Mita Pardo de Tavera. Mara and her husband, Raymond Brown, established the Organic Market at the Greenbelt Park, Makati City in 1993 to promote the consumption of organically grown vegetables.

Manotoc, 24, is Marcos’ son by sportsman Tommy Manotoc.

Corpus said the victim’s family has expressed their intention to file appropriate charges against Manotoc.

Only last Jan. 31, Manotoc figured in a near-fistfight with former basketball star Paul Alvarez, who had mistaken Cadness for a waitress. The incident took place at the same bar.

Alvarez subsequently apologized to Manotoc and Cadness. – Rhodina Villanueva
