Lone cop arrests four robbers in Caloocan

Four suspected holdup men from Caloocan, one of them a minor, who were waiting for their next victims, fell instead into the hands of a lone cop and were locked up for carrying deadly weapons early yesterday in Navotas.
Police Officer 2 Rafael Espadero, officer-on-case, identified the suspects as Danilo Cardeno, 23; Juniben Flores, 19; Mark Anthony Rodriguez, 19 and their 16-year-old accomplice, whose name was withheld because he is a minor, all of Landasca, Dagat-Dagatan, Caloocan City.
Seized from the suspects were a pen gun loaded with one live bullet for an M-16 automatic rifle, a pillbox explosive, a fan knife and an icepick.
According to the police, witness Mark Flores, 26, was told by his wife that the suspects, who appeared to be loitering in the area waiting for their next victim, were the same ones whom she saw the previous week robbing a tricycle driver.
Flores called the police station and sougth assistance from Police Officer 1 Allan Torregosa, who quickly responded and arrested the four.
Espadero said the suspects face charges of violating the election gun ban and illegal possession of deadly weapons.
