An unidentified man was ran over by a Metro Rail Transit (MRT) train near the Ortigas station Friday night.
Television reports said the accident occured along the northbound track between the Santolan and Ortigas MRT stations at around 9 p.m.
Witnesses said the victim was a "rugby boy." Police reportedly found bottles of rugby near the scene of the incident.
Authorities said that the victim may have been high on rugby and jumped from a nearby flyover onto the tracks.
Because of the incident, the MRTs operation was delayed for about 10 minutes.
Reports said it was not the first time that a man was run over by an MRT train.
In 2005, a security guard was also run over by an oncoming train while inspecting the tracks between Guadalupe and Buendia stations in Makati City. Sandy Araneta
