The certification, which is valid for two years, were issued by director Asuncion Anden of the Department of Healths Center for Health Development for Metro Manila.
A Sentrong Sigla basic certification is issued only to health facilities that have met the quality standards for health services.
Quezon City Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr. and city health department head Dr. Antonieta Inumerable welcomed the Sentrong Sigla certification as the best recognition of the city governments effort to improve health facilities and services.
To date, there are 57 health centers in Quezon City. About 20 of these facilities are either new or newly renovated.

To provide easy access to good medical care, the city government has upgraded and standardized the facilities and structure of all health centers.
From 2002 to 2004, the city government allotted P53.58 million for the construction of new health facilities and P10.82 million for the repair of existing ones.
Quezon City now has six super health centers that function like mini-hospitals. These centers maintain 24-hour operations and are able to attend to non-medical legal emergency cases and normal deliveries.
