Five cars razed in fire

Two fires hit Tondo, Manila yesterday, razing five parked cars.

No casualties or injuries were reported in both fires, but damage to property could reach several millions of pesos.

Arson investigator Senior Fire Officer 2 Wilson Tana said a fire occurred at around 8 a.m. at an open garage of one Victor Go along Albuquerque street in Tondo where the five vehicles were parked.

Three of the vehicles — a BMW sedan, a Hyundai sedan and a Mitsubishi van — were totally destroyed, while a Mitsubishi sedan and a Toyota Revo were partially damaged.

The fire, which reached first alarm, was easily put out by responding fire trucks after about seven minutes, preventing it from spreading to other houses.

Arson investigators are still determining the cause of the fire.

At around 11 p.m. last Thursday, a fire of still undetermined origin razed a two-story house along Manuguit street in Tondo.

Only the house owned by one Reynaldo Aragon was razed.

The fire, which reached third alarm, was put out at around 11:30 p.m. Nestor Etolle
