Las Piñas City Mayor Imelda Aguilar said students, who took three-month vocational and technical courses, will receive their certificates at graduation rites to be held at the Verdant Acres Subdivision Covered Court in Pamplona III, Las Piñas City on June 24.
Aguilar said that this batch of graduates will be provided referrals for job placements in various companies in the city through the assistance of her administration’s Public Employment Service Office.
The Las Piñas training facility is considered one of the most outstanding manpower schools in the Philippines. Since 1995, the school has produced an average 2,000 skilled workers annually.
It provides quality vocational and technical education to underprivileged city residents who cannot afford to enroll in private schools.
Most graduates are now successfully employed and others run their own small businesses.
The school offers free courses in automotive trouble shooting, commercial electricity, computers, cosmetology, data encoding, high-speed sewing, dressmaking, hotel and restaurant services, food trade, welding, and refrigeration and air-conditioning.
