NCRPO ready to arrest Jaylo

National Capital Region Police Office(NCRPO) chief Director Vidal Querol said yesterday his command was ready to enforce the arrest warrant on former police captain Reynaldo Jaylo, former chief of the defunct Presidential Anti-Illegal Recruitment Task Force (PAIRTF).

"Once we get a copy of the warrant of arrest, we are ready to arrest and enforce the law," said Querol, who advised the former police official to come forward and face the charges.

"He can run, but he cannot hide from the law. I know Capt. Jaylo, being a former policeman, knows that," he said.

Querol issued the statement after a Manila court issued a warrant of arrest against Jaylo and eight of his men for illegal detention charges.

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said PAIRTF has been conducting operations against illegal recruiters even if the group’s mandate had expired.

Meanwhile, Manila Police District (MPD) director Chief Superintendent Pedro Bulaong has formed a task force to hunt down Jaylo.

The MPD chief doubted Jaylo would surrender to authorities, considering that he was facing a non-bailable offense.

"Baka magtago na yan. Sigurado kasing kulong siya pag nahuli dahil
non-bailable ang offense niya," Bulaong said.

Jaylo as a police captain once served the Manila police in various capacities including chief of the homicide section and the anti-illegal drugs unit.

Copies of the warrant were disseminated yesterday to the MPD, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG). – Cecille Suerte Felipe, Nestor Etolle
