Fire hit another residential area in Las Piñas City yesterday, the third in three days.
Property worth an estimated went up in smoke as fire hit four houses on Turin street in BF Homes International Subdivision in Barangay CAA.
Investigators said the fire started at around 8:13 a.m. from the house of one Chara Puras and immediately reached the second alarm 20 minutes later.
No one was reportedly hurt in the fire, which was put out at 10 a.m.
Fire Inspector Jonivan Casison, of the City Fire Station, said they have yet to determine the cause of the fire, but revealed that it appears to be faulty electric wiring based on the initial investigation.
Prior to yesterdays incident, two fires hit Barangay Talon 4 one last Monday afternoon and another last Tuesday morning, leaving some 280 families homeless and destroying property worth an estimated more than P3.2 million.
The first fire gutted more than 150 shanties on Sitio Pulo in Barangay Talon 4 and lasted for three hours. It started from a day care center. One fireman was hurt battling the blaze..
While affected families were awaiting relief goods at the covered court the next day, another fire hit the barangay and gutted more houses on Enos street.
With the consecutive fire incidents, authorities again appealed to the public to take precautionary measures to avoid fires.
"Even if its no longer Fire Prevention Month, we are still in the summer season when it is hottest. You should always check your electrical connections because faulty wiring is still the main causes of most fires," Casison told The STAR in a phone interview. Edu Punay
