Security guard kills siblings in brawl

Two brothers were killed yesterday morning by a security guard following a scuffle over the latter’s service firearm at an auto shop in Quezon City.

Police identified the fatalities as Dante Navarro, 24; and his brother Ramil, 23, both mechanic helpers at the Reyvet Auto Shop located along Mindanao Avenue, Barangay Talipapa.

They died on the spot from gunshot wounds in the chest.

The suspect, identified as Eddie Domingo, 33, of King Eleazar Investigation Agency, immediately turned himself in to authorities after the incident.

Senior Superintendent. Procopio Lipana, chief of the Central Police District-Criminal Investigation Unit (CPD-CIU), said the two helpers and Domingo figured in a heated argument last Wednesday night when the security guard prevented the brothers from entering the shop.

Domingo claimed that he was just following the instructions of his boss that no one be allowed to enter the establishment after 9 p.m.

At around 7:30 a.m. yesterday, the Navarro brothers reported to work and continued to argue with Domingo.

The argument later turned into a brawl, with the brothers trying to grab the security guard’s shotgun. Domingo claimed, it was at this point that he shot both brothers.

Lipana told The Star that it was Domingo who reported the incident to the police and even waited for investigators to arrive at the crime scene. When lawmen came, he immediately surrendered.

The 12-gauge shotgun was turned over to police while Domingo was taken to the CPD-CIU at Camp Karingal for detention.

Lipana said that Domingo could be charged for double homicide before a local court.
