QC cop arrested in Marikina

The Marikina City police arrested a Quezon City policeman who went on a drug and alcohol induced rampage at a busy Marikina street on Saturday afternoon.

Senior Superintendent Felipe Rojas, Marikina police chief, identified the arrested lawman as PO2 Monico Icasa, of the Central Police District Station 6.

Investigation showed that Icasa had sowed terror at the corner of J. P. Rizal street and Farmers Avenue in Tumana, Concepcion Uno, Marikina at 3:30 p.m. Apparently under the influence of alcohol and illegal drugs, he stopped traffic by waving his gun in the air, scaring passing pedestrians and motorists.

Icasa had reportedly also smashed the window of a Toyota Tamarraw FX taxi being driven by Bonifacio Esmilla, 43, of 115 Rose St., Permaline Subdivision, Nagka, Marikina City, with his firearm.

He also reportedly poked a gun at Esmilla and a pedestrian identified as Joel Uy, 32, of San Mateo Rizal. — Rainier Allan Ronda
